Quiet support when it matters most

At Rooted, we offer personal, individualized care for all wellness, pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum needs. We believe that birth is a natural, physiological process. At births, we are present to think quickly when changes need to be made to protect the well-being of the birthing parent and/or baby, but most of the time we are simply quiet witnesses to the physiological process of birth and we prefer it that way as well.
We do not want to disrupt the process.
We believe that people hold great intuitive knowledge about their bodies and well-being and we respect and support the clients' role in their care. Informed choice is THE key aspect of our midwifery care in which we offer information and support so that you can make your own health care decisions for you and your baby.
We strive for autenticity and integrity in our midwifery practice and are committed to using open, honest, and compassionate communication. We believe that all families deserve quality midwifery care and the option to birth with a midwife as a safe alternative to hospital birth, and we are honored to be a part of their journeys.
I believe in holistic medicine because I grew up crunchy,
and at my core I will always be an "in-the-woods-hippy girl who lived in a tipi while raising my naked babies outside*.
I grew up with two moms, traveled and lived on the road, backpacked, lived in national forests off the land then gave up my wanderlust spirit and started a community homestead where I cooked on a fire, slept in our tipi off grid while we tried to build a house with no money and our bare hands. I hired midwives to support me through my pregnancies.
I have five babies now and will probably have more.

Herbalist and Midwife
My deep reverence for the body's transformation through pregnancy and birth - from maiden to mother - is what drew me to the path of midwifery. I have such respect for the innate wisdom that women embody, and I am honored to help them cultivate more awareness of our mind-body connection throughout pregnancy.
I have an unshakable belief that our bodies are not 'broken', and that humans have every capacity to heal, regenerate and renew. My background in vitalism and herbs has taught me that healing happens naturally when we provide our body with the right support and nurturing.
We are honored to support the next generation of midwives and are currently welcoming applications from student midwives seeking hands-on clinical experience. At Austin Rooted, students are invited into a collaborative, relationship-centered model of care where physiological birth is respected, informed consent is foundational, and families are deeply supported. We value curiosity, humility, strong communication, and a heart for service. Our student midwives are mentored closely, encouraged to grow in both skill and confidence, and integrated into a team that prioritizes safety, compassion, and continuity of care. If you feel called to learn in a supportive, high-integrity birth center environment, we would love to connect with you.

Our Low/Non-Tox Promise
Effective cleaning and non-toxic at the same time.
Because the products we use matter to your health.
We intentionally choose cleaning and disinfecting products that are non-toxic while still meeting the same effectiveness standards as conventional disinfectants like bleach. These products are proven to kill bacteria and viruses without leaving behind harsh chemical residues, strong fumes, or endocrine-disrupting ingredients. This means our spaces are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected while remaining safer for newborns, birthing families, and staff with sensitive respiratory systems or skin. We believe safety includes both infection control and long-term health, and our cleaning practices reflect that balance every day.
*All cleaning and disinfecting products used in our birth center meet federal and state regulatory standards for effectiveness and safety. Disinfectants are registered with the Environmental Protection Agency under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act, which means they have been evaluated and approved for their ability to kill specific bacteria and viruses when used according to label instructions. Many non-toxic and low-toxicity disinfectants rely on mechanisms such as accelerated hydrogen peroxide, citric acid, or quaternary ammonium alternatives, which disrupt microbial cell walls and proteins in ways comparable to bleach, without the harmful fumes or corrosive residues. These products are commonly used in healthcare settings and meet hospital-grade disinfection requirements while significantly reducing respiratory irritation, skin exposure risks, and environmental impact. This approach allows us to maintain rigorous infection control standards while also protecting the long-term health of newborns, families, and staff.
