At Rooted, we believe birth works best when families feel safe, respected, and deeply cared for. We are not here to control birth. We are here to support it. Most of the time, that looks like quiet encouragement, experienced observation, and trusting the body’s natural design while creating an environment where families can fully settle into the experience.
We do not want to disrupt the process.
We believe that people hold great intuitive knowledge about their bodies and well-being and we respect and support the clients' role in their care. Informed choice is THE key aspect of our midwifery care in which we offer information and support so that you can make your own health care decisions for you and your baby.
We strive for autenticity and integrity in our midwifery practice and are committed to using open, honest, and compassionate communication. We believe that all families deserve quality midwifery care and the option to birth with a midwife as a safe alternative to hospital birth, and we are honored to be a part of their journeys.
I believe deeply in holistic medicine because it is not just something I practice. It is something I come from.
At my core, I will always be an in-the-woods, barefoot, wild-hearted, hippie mama. Because I lived in a tipi, raised naked babies under the open sky, trusted the rhythms of nature, and found medicine in the earth.
I was raised unconventionally by two mothers, with a life rooted in freedom, movement, and connection. I traveled, lived on the road, backpacked, and spent time living off the land in national forests. That wandering spirit eventually led me to create a community homestead.
We cooked over open fire, slept off-grid in our tipi, and tried to build a home with our bare hands with no money, fueled by faith, resilience, and a deep belief in a different way of living.
When I became a mother, I chose midwives to walk alongside me through pregnancy and birth because I have always believed birth is sacred, intuitive, and meant to be held in reverence, not fear.
I am a mother of five, and through every season of motherhood, I have become even more convinced that so many of the struggles we face today stem from disconnection. Disconnection from the land, from our bodies, from ancestral wisdom, and from true community.
I believe healing happens when we return to nature, to nourishment, to nervous system safety, to trusted support, and to the kind of village we were always meant to have.

My deep reverence for the body's transformation through pregnancy and birth - from maiden to mother - is what drew me to the path of midwifery. I have such respect for the innate wisdom that women embody, and I am honored to help them cultivate more awareness of our mind-body connection throughout pregnancy.
I have an unshakable belief that our bodies are not 'broken', and that humans have every capacity to heal, regenerate and renew. My background in vitalism and herbs has taught me that healing happens naturally when we provide our body with the right support and nurturing.

We are honored to support the next generation of midwives and are currently welcoming applications from student midwives seeking hands-on clinical experience. At Austin Rooted, students are invited into a collaborative, relationship-centered model of care where physiological birth is respected, informed consent is foundational, and families are deeply supported. We value curiosity, humility, strong communication, and a heart for service. Our student midwives are mentored closely, encouraged to grow in both skill and confidence, and integrated into a team that prioritizes safety, compassion, and continuity of care.
